As your body’s first line of defense against everything life throws at you, nothing looks out for you more than your immune system.
Your best defense is a strong immune system.
1) Eat the rainbow
Leafy greens, fresh fruit and other colorful foods are rich in essential vitamins like A, B6, C and E, and plenty of other healthy micronutrients. So eating a range of vibrantly colored foods – especially of the superfood variety – can help your body stay fueled and healthy.
2) Stay hydrated
Drinking plenty of water fuels a healthy immune system. It provides vital nutrients to keep your defenses strong and helps prevent toxic build up. Water, broth, tea – you’ve got choices.
3) Work up a sweat
Regular exercise stimulates movement of innate cells throughout the body, which results in better immune surveillance.
4) Get in your ZZZZZs
Poor sleep can negatively affect your immune system. Setting – and sticking to – a regular sleep schedule and clocking in a solid 7-9 hours each night can keep your body’s defenses on full alert.
5) Don’t stress out
Taking steps like managing negative thoughts, getting outside, and finding ways to relax can fend off the negative impact stress can have on your immune system and help it defend against harmful foreign agents.
